Starry Night critique

Imitaltionalism:  the painting has no real imitaltionlism except for the little town in the background that is the only thing that looks real other than that everything looks more made up. This portrait would not pass for realism.

Formalism: the visual organization in this painting is remarkably beautiful because of how he has the mountain in one side, the town in the other, and the very detailed, especially the stars, I find that they attract most of my attention to the portrait. This would pass for formalism.

Emotionalism: this portrait has very little emotional content because you cant really figure out where the emotional content would be placed except for the stars which give you a pleasant feeling when you see them because of how bright they are and because of the shape and swirls that would kind of give you a happy and pleasant feeling to it.
